October 10, 1999: Krakow and Auschwitz |
|
Back in Krakow, I decide that, since I'm leaving tomorrow, this would be a good time to take in a few more of the sights. The Rynek Glowny is just a few blocks from my hotel and even though the tourist season ended some time ago, the huge square is always crowded and colorful. It's the largest town square in Poland and although I'm not certain that this is true, I've read that it's the largest in all of Europe. It was designed in 1257 and even after nearly 750 years, it still retains its original layout. |
