My Visit To
Poland

October 4, 1999: Warsaw
Musical Theater 1600x1200 (401 KB)

"The cinema 'Femina.' During the period of the Ghetto, this building was a musical theater where operettas were staged by E. Kalman and P. Abram. In 1987, during their visit to Poland, the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra, together with violinist Icchak Perlman and conductor Zubin Mehta, gave a late-night concert in the cinema in memory of the Jews who had performed there." -- A Guide to Jewish Warsaw (©1996 Our Roots.
