"There is a plaque high up on number 10/26 Ogrodowa Street which bears the following inscription – 'Jozef Lewartowski (1895-1942) lived in this house between 1941 and 1942. He was a revolutionary activist, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Poland (KC KPP) during the occupation and on behalf of KC KPP, the organizer of PPR, the Polish Workers Party, and the resistance movement in the Warsaw Ghetto.
